Fields of Activity of Liebherr
Liebherr-International AG remains a family-owned company to this day. The headquarters are located in Bulle, Switzerland. The manufacturing group comprises 130 companies worldwide, including plants producing construction machinery, lifting cranes, and dump trucks, as well as divisions such as Liebherr Aerospace, which specializes in aviation components.
At the same time, the production of various types of cranes accounts for only one third of the group’s revenue. Globally, Liebherr is also widely recognized as a manufacturer of high-quality domestic and professional refrigeration equipment.
The idea of entering the refrigeration technology sector first emerged for founder Hans Liebherr in 1953. After analyzing market demand following a visit to a bankrupt company, he identified strong potential for business development. In-house production was launched in Ochsenhausen, Germany, and by 1954 the first factory had begun operations.
Today, the refrigeration product range is dominated by premium household refrigerators and freezers, as well as professional solutions for business use. A consistent focus on real customer needs has made it possible to develop a line of professional refrigeration and freezing equipment that meets the highest quality standards.
Liebherr offers some of the market’s best devices in terms of energy efficiency and durability for hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, and confectioneries, as well as reliable medical and laboratory equipment.
